Cap Splitter

AA Hotels caps loyalty earnings per reservation. A single long stay can leave thousands of LP on the table. Cap Splitter shows you the optimal way to structure your booking — same hotel, same nights, same cash, more loyalty points.

◆ EXECUTIVE TIER

How it works

Each AA Hotels reservation has its own earning cap. Book seven nights as one stay and you'll likely hit the cap and stop earning halfway through. Split the same trip into two or three separate reservations and each one earns up to the cap independently.

Cap used in this calculation: 15,000 LP per reservation — verified in AA Hotels' FAQ and from multiple member-reported data points (including r/americanairlines #1o5n9k5). The cap is per booking, regardless of how many nights it covers. A 10,000-LP-per-night ceiling is also applied as a defensive working assumption — AA Hotels' booking page displays appear to top out around 10K per night in our snapshot data, though that may be a display artifact rather than a hard cap. Card-spend miles (price × your card multiplier) accrue separately and are not capped here. Cap Splitter recommends real reservations you would actually take — whether you complete every night is up to you.
